Style Crush of the Week

Welcome back me

Hello! Unfortunately I have neglected my little blog recently, not out of choice though I must add. I have been very busy making trips here there and everywhere! I have also had to begin planning the rest of my life recently, which is very time consuming as you can imagine. However, I have lots that I have to share with you and plenty of purchases made/to be made. I will be making my style diary a weekly thing- I just need to get myself a little bit more organized.

READING
I am really enjoying 'style diaries' which is an inspiring collection of fashion bloggers from all over the world. Impossible to put down, this book compiles all of the best blogs out there, whilst also helping to conjure up ideas for your own blog. I stumbled across it in urban outfitters and it cost £14.99. It’s the sort of book you can keep coming back to. Every fashion blogger and fashion lover must have a copy.

COSMETICS

Maybelline's Gel Eyeliner is one of the best things I have bought this month. Simple and easy to use, this little beauty is reasonably priced at £5.99 and can be found anywhere on the high street. For a dramatic look or a natural one, the gel eyeliner is at hand and comes in a cute little ink well. For best results, as Lauren Conrad recommends in her book 'Style', lean on a flat surface and start from the inside of your eye.

Monday 7th March

Always a fan of pretty nail varnish, I have recently discovered Models Own- a collection which has a wide range of colours and shades. Although a little more expensive, £4.99 each, Models Own nail varnish is easy to apply and stays on for days. Definitely a great buy. My favourite colours are Pink Fizz and Vintage Pink. The entire collection is available online along with their own blog and an array of other cosmetics.

STYLE

Shoes Office £65
Shorts Levis Urban Outfitters £30
Belt Charity Shop £3
Charm Bracelets Topshop £4/£5
Top Topshop Petite £16
Cardigan Topshop £35

                                                Wednesday 9th March
Chelsea Boots Primark £5
Shorts Primark £12
Blouse Topshop £35

ADDITIONS TO MY WARDROBE
The above pieces are all from Topshop. The high waisted shorts, which personally I think resemble Levis (?), cost £30 and are a size 8. The top is a tiered peter pan blouse with buttons up the back and cost £36 in a size 8- a word of warning though this blouse is extremely delicate and catches quite easily...probably best not to wear it to work as I did, this piece is only for show. The blazer, which I have wanted for months, is an apricot colored piece costing £65 in a size 8, perfect for layering as it is over sized.

Fashion tights can really change an outfit from quite nice to something quite special. After searching high and low, I finally found these House of Holland suspender tights in River Island and they cost £12. However, I must warn you that these tights are very easy to ladder and I didn’t actually leave the house before I had already laddered them. That said, if you are not a plonker, these sexy tights really are a must have. River Island also have a wide selection of tights on their website which is worth a look. That said, Primark do a much cheaper, practical pair so keep your eyes peeled and get those legs out ladies!

until next time.

vintage floral

As summer is edging it's way closer, comfortable floaty fabrics and vintage patters are on the up, whilst the presence of blacks and grey's are definitely diminishing (worrying- as this is all I seem to wear). A breath of fresh air and effortlessly chic, these fabrics have been seen sported by the likes of Nicole Richie and Rihanna. What's more, it seems that vintage floral is not only popular in fashion but it is also becoming increasingly popular in interior design and art. This is a fabric that is incredibly flattering and fun to wear-
no matter your age, size or look vintage floral is something that looks good on everyone, particularly in the approaching summer months. Whether you choose to go all out and wear a vintage floral dress, or keep it simple and invest in a vintage floral shirt or skirt, this trend can be personalised and adapted...enjoy.

Take a look at some of the best pieces I have found on the high street...

balletic grace

For anyone who has seen it, the Black Swan is undeniably a stunning film that successfully combines grace with couture fashion. Although I definitely didn't see it coming, it would appear that this film has had direct impact upon the world of fashion particularly on the catwalk. Soft pastel colours, romantic shades, ultra feminine frills and sugar pinks are all things intrinsically linked to ballet and all feature in recent fashion trends. A look that is effortless and elegant, this new balletic style is a stark contrast to baggy 'sweats', block colour and masculine chic, previous trends we have seen over the past couple of months. Ballet flats in particular are set to be a key piece in the up and coming months, as well as the classic high bun that combines style and sophistication. Visually pleasing and fashion forward, definitely a must see film and a trend to embrace.

Sugar Pink Tunic Urban Outfitters £9.99

A week is a long time....

This week has been b-e-a-utiful. I visited my lovely boyfriend in Canterbury for four days and I also had a chance to catch up with some of my best friends as it was my best friend Rosanna's 22nd Birthday. Although I love living at home, I do really miss my friends and boyfriend.

I was showered with gifts from wee Andrew who visited NYC in December. I am now the proud owner of a stunning Tiffany bracelet which I have yet to take off- I never expected to own anything from tiffany...so it was quite a shock!!

=)
In terms of what I have been buying lately, there is not much news to report! Sorry to be boring! I am incredibly broke until pay day this Friday..but I have lots that I want to buy as always. That said, I have bought one thing in the last couple of weeks. Check it out.

This polka dot blouse was £21.99 from New Look about a week and a half ago. It looks great with jean shorts, jeans and black cropped trousers. I have also found some leather shorts on ebay which I think this lil number will also look fabulous with.

AND THATS IT! told you I was broke....roll on Friday.

On a more exciting note...this is what I am looking to buy in the up and coming weeks=)

1
Possibly one of my favourite tops EVER ( everyone who I will work with will know how much I rant on about this beauty) - costing £38 from Topshop- soon you will be mine!!

2
Another Topshop beauty. This floaty cape blouse costs £33 and I intend to purchase this one as part of my Topshop uniform next week.

3
Although I dont really wear a lot of dusky pink, I really am in love with this Victoriana Bell Sleeve tunic from River Island costing £34.99

Thats all for now folks!

Cottons got style

I am sure I am not the only one who admires Ferne Cotton. She is beautiful, successful and as if that wasn't enough, she now has her own clothing range that boasts luxurious clothing at high street prices. Teaming up with VERY, Ferne has created an exclusive range of spring and summer looks that are accessible to all.
Interestingly, a few of Ferne's pieces are reminiscent of Kate Moss' Topshop collection but at much more affordable prices.
Enjoy!
