vintage floral

As summer is edging it's way closer, comfortable floaty fabrics and vintage patters are on the up, whilst the presence of blacks and grey's are definitely diminishing (worrying- as this is all I seem to wear). A breath of fresh air and effortlessly chic, these fabrics have been seen sported by the likes of Nicole Richie and Rihanna. What's more, it seems that vintage floral is not only popular in fashion but it is also becoming increasingly popular in interior design and art. This is a fabric that is incredibly flattering and fun to wear-
no matter your age, size or look vintage floral is something that looks good on everyone, particularly in the approaching summer months. Whether you choose to go all out and wear a vintage floral dress, or keep it simple and invest in a vintage floral shirt or skirt, this trend can be personalised and adapted...enjoy.

Take a look at some of the best pieces I have found on the high street...

balletic grace

For anyone who has seen it, the Black Swan is undeniably a stunning film that successfully combines grace with couture fashion. Although I definitely didn't see it coming, it would appear that this film has had direct impact upon the world of fashion particularly on the catwalk. Soft pastel colours, romantic shades, ultra feminine frills and sugar pinks are all things intrinsically linked to ballet and all feature in recent fashion trends. A look that is effortless and elegant, this new balletic style is a stark contrast to baggy 'sweats', block colour and masculine chic, previous trends we have seen over the past couple of months. Ballet flats in particular are set to be a key piece in the up and coming months, as well as the classic high bun that combines style and sophistication. Visually pleasing and fashion forward, definitely a must see film and a trend to embrace.
